A beautiful trek in the Langtang massif, off the beaten track.
Halfway between the Annapurnas and the Rolwaling Himal, not far from Shishapangma (8,012m), the Langtang massif, north of Kathmandu, boasts several impressive peaks, including Langtang Lirung (7,225m) and Dorje Lhakpa (6,966m), a magnificent glacial pyramid at the bottom of the valley.
The ascent of Tsergo Ri (4,984m), a superb viewpoint, marks the highest altitude of the classic Langtang trek, offering magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (four peaks ranging from 7,043m to 7,422m) and Manaslu (8,156m), among others.
With this variant of the Langtang trek, the ascent of Dorjelakpa (6,966m) will mark the highest point of the route.
Dorjelakpa, visible from the Kathmandu Valley to the northeast, with its elegant pyramid shape, is one of the most beautiful peaks in the Langtang range of Nepal.
This mountain, located east of the beautiful Langtang Valley and south of Mount Sisapangma in Tibet, is an ideal expedition for photographers and mountaineers to discover breathtaking views of the Langtang and Rollwalling Himalayan ranges.
The entire trek takes place within Langtang National Park, which was the first protected area in the Himalayas in Nepal, extending to the Qumolangma National Nature Reserve in Tibet to the north and northeast, beyond the Himalayas.
This trek is also an excellent opportunity to discover the cultural diversity of the local population, known as the "ancient Tibetan Bhotias." Having migrated from Tibet long ago, they remain deeply influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.
